Hap P B’Day Randy!!!

Ha ha! Can’t believe it? I don’t blame you because I forgot every year for the last 20 years 8O, but not this time!!! So here goes!

HAPPY B’DAY, RANDY! CAN’T WAIT TO MEET YOU GUYS AT OUR NEXT (best in the world) BEACH (LAN) PARTY  (I’ll make it the best beach party ever. And that’s a promise!)

PS: Hey, Randy! How’s the b’day card I mailed you? Will you believe me if I tell you that Aish took $4.5 million for that one? 😈 Yeah, the price is a bit high, but thanks to our buddy CNX, she didn’t take that much from me. lol

84,000 Hits! My blog Rocks!

Blog stats! They’re always the coolest part of blogging. Seeing a big number, I’m sure all my fellow bloggers will agree with me, blog hits are like ice cream to a kid! We all love chasing more and more, and then some extra. I felt so thrilled to be a blogger back in the early days when I was getting 10 or 15 hits a day (sometimes even less). I couldn’t have been happier when I scored 120 hits one day! Now my blog gets way more than that, but I still crave more. Why do us bloggers love racking up hits? I can’t speak for everyone, but I think lots of us, myself included, feel like we’re helping people. It’s awesome to share knowledge with another curious mind. It’s human nature to feel special (happy, even) when you help someone with info, opinions, or anything really. That “happy feeling” is like nature’s gift to folks who lend a hand. And when people show their thanks with a comment, nothing tops that!

This is how I feel about my blogging life. I reckon plenty of bloggers think the same, though some might see it totally differently. Who knows? Maybe you do! If you’re a blogger, what keeps you blogging?

Happy B’Day Buddy!

I’ve done it again! I forgot my mango bud ChanuX’s birthday 😦 Yep, I’m totally careless for letting that slip! I’m ashamed to admit to you guys how ChanuX, along with Aza and Randy, planned my birthday party. I didn’t even remember my own birthday while they were getting ready to celebrate it. And you know what? I forgot all three birthdays of my best buds 😦 ChanuX’s was the third one 😦 Now I’m starting to believe my parents are right… I’m not just turning into a geek, I’m already a clueless one!!! Damn it, I didn’t even recall it until I saw it on ChanuX’s blog! I feel really awful about this. I honestly do!

ChanuX, buddy! I’m so sorry I forgot your birthday! Please don’t forgive me, kill me!!! I deserve it!!!

previous caption Shows how busy I Was :D

OK, guys, here it is…

After the last couple of posts I published here, someone (guess who?) found my humble writings 😉 interesting enough to read and offered me a new gig. Guess what? Now I’m the Editor of the upcoming C…C…DOTorg! Whooo hooo! …Oops, gotta behave myself now 😀 Anyway, I’m sorry, but I won’t reveal the site URL yet… it’s a surprise! Hopefully, I’ll share it in my next post. I think you guys can now see why I was so busy last week. I had to give it my all because we at C.C.org want to bring you the best. So, what’s so special about CC.org, you might ask?

Nothing special, except it’s being updated (daily, hopefully!) by a bunch of tech geeks who’d rather sit in front of their computers than do anything else, even during breakfast, lunch, or dinner 😀 But I’m sure these guys (myself included) will make sure you get the best from the web.

So, I think I’ve given you enough excuses for my sudden disappearance, and I’ve got to get back to work now because there’s a ton to do! Oh, did you notice? I didn’t even have time to caption my last post, but thanks to my blogging tool Performancing, it got auto-named “post1” 😀

SLIIT

At last, I’ve got a chance to get back into my blogging world again! From now on, I’ll try my best to post some updates about myself. I’ve got so much to share with you guys (and gals too, of course). The biggest news of them all iiiiiis… guess what? I’m not repeating my A/Ls again! Yeah, I’ve had enough of that long, boring chemistry syllabus. I felt like, “Now’s the time to learn the real stuff.”

I even went to classes for a few weeks, but I just couldn’t get back that “A/L spirit” I had during my previous attempt. So, I decided to do something different. I chose the B.Sc. IT degree program at SLIIT. Unfortunately, I was too late to make my decision, so I won’t be able to join the 2007 batch. Instead, I’ll be starting with the 2008 batch. Because of that, I’ll have to wait until September to sit for the entrance exam. The program itself starts in November with a two-month foundation course designed to help weaker (or inexperienced) students get up to speed. So, I’ve got another boring two months to wait before I can start learning the real stuff.

This is a four-year degree program with eight semesters, and I’ll have to pay Rs. 57,500/= ($550) per semester. (It seems like the fees are increasing every year, but I hope they stay the same for at least a couple of semesters.) Not great news for a poor geeky boy like me, but my dad has agreed to pay for the entire four years. Thanks, Thaththa! You’re the best!

There’s something really cool about SLIIT, though. They offer scholarships for top-ranking students. This means that a geeky student who performs really well in class and maintains an average GPA of 3.5 or higher gets a full scholarship and doesn’t have to pay for the next semester. Not bad, huh?

Since I’ve got plenty of free time right now, I’ve already started studying the syllabus so I can stay ahead when I start at SLIIT. Shh! Keep quiet! Don’t tell them I’ve already started reading the books for the first semester. (Thanks to my good old buddy Windika for lending me his sister’s books! Thank you, Akki, for having such a nice brother! 🙂 ) I’m even planning not to pay for the second semester. 😀

I mean, what else could you expect from a guy who ruined his engineering dream by spending too much time in the cyber world instead of studying A/L chemistry? This is our world! Where else could we perform well if not in the computer world? Everyone has their own personal talent, and this is ours.

There are many like me, including Mila da pretty cool (ChanuX’s definition of Mili) and Mota da dumbest of all, who just waste time without learning anything! 😀 Yeah, I mean it! Mili is one of my best buds, but I’ve got plenty of evidence that he’s skipping lectures and going wild. I can’t believe you’re doing such a stupid thing, Mili. Stop acting foolish and be a bit more responsible!

Anyway, since I’ve got this unexpected freedom, I’m spending all my time with my PC, studying various subjects—from lucid dreaming to hacking! Remember? Given enough time and plenty of caffeine, hackers can move anything! And so can I! 😀

Our Manifesto!@#

Hi All!

It’s been a while… yeah, I know! No need to say that I’ve been “too” busy to update my blog. Anyway, I thought now is the perfect time to spend some time updating it. So, here I am, publishing something that wasn’t actually written by me. I’ve always wanted to share this but never had the chance. Here’s a clue: it’s a piece of literature that’s very much our type. “What on earth is that?” you might ask. Well, keep reading!

This is a classic article written by “The Mentor,” offering some insight into the mind of a computer hacker. It’s a well-known piece that can be found all over the Internet and is a staple on many “hacker” websites. Apparently, it first appeared in the hacker magazine =Phrack Inc.=, Volume One, Issue 7, Phile 3 of 10.

Another one got caught today, it’s all over the papers. “TeenagerArrested in Computer Crime Scandal”, “Hacker Arrested after Bank Tampering”… Damn kids. They’re all alike.

But did you, in your three-piece psychology and 1950’s technobrain, ever take a look behind the eyes of the hacker? Did you ever wonder whatmade him tick, what forces shaped him, what may have molded him? I am a hacker, enter my world… Mine is a world that begins with school… I’m smarter than most ofthe other kids, this crap they teach us bores me… Damn underachiever. They’re all alike.

I’m in junior high or high school. I’ve listened to teachers explainfor the fifteenth time how to reduce a fraction. I understand it. “No, Ms.Smith, I didn’t show my work. I did it in my head…” Damn kid. Probably copied it. They’re all alike.

I made a discovery today. I found a computer. Wait a second, this iscool. It does what I want it to. If it makes a mistake, it’s because Iscrewed it up. Not because it doesn’t like me… Or feels threatened by me… Or thinks I’m a smart ass… Or doesn’t like teaching and shouldn’t be here… Damn kid. All he does is play games. They’re all alike.

And then it happened… a door opened to a world… rushing throughthe phone line like heroin through an addict’s veins, an electronic pulse issent out, a refuge from the day-to-day incompetencies is sought… a board isfound. “This is it… this is where I belong…” I know everyone here… even if I’ve never met them, never talked tothem, may never hear from them again… I know you all… Damn kid. Tying up the phone line again. They’re all alike…

You bet your ass we’re all alike… we’ve been spoon-fed baby food atschool when we hungered for steak… the bits of meat that you did let slipthrough were pre-chewed and tasteless. We’ve been dominated by sadists, orignored by the apathetic. The few that had something to teach found us will-ing pupils, but those few are like drops of water in the desert.

This is our world now… the world of the electron and the switch, thebeauty of the baud. We make use of a service already existing without payingfor what could be dirt-cheap if it wasn’t run by profiteering gluttons, andyou call us criminals. We explore… and you call us criminals. We seekafter knowledge… and you call us criminals. We exist without skin color, without nationality, without religious bias… and you call us criminals. You build atomic bombs, you wage wars, you murder, cheat, and lie to usand try to make us believe it’s for our own good, yet we’re the criminals.

Yes, I am a criminal. My crime is that of curiosity. My crime isthat of judging people by what they say and think, not what they look like.My crime is that of outsmarting you, something that you will never forgive mefor.

I am a hacker, and this is my manifesto. You may stop this individual, but you can’t stop us all… after all, we’re all alike.

Anyway, you know what the funniest thing is? This manifesto is copyrighted by some ahole who works at a law school. I came across this online while surfing and got sooo angry at this pathetic professor, “ANE SUSAANO.” 😀

How can someone claim ownership of something like this? Seriously.

Back to the topic, though.

Our friend “The Mentor” got busted a few days after writing this, but his words still live on. It’s going to take a long time for the LAW (or LOW :D) guys to erase this from their imaginary “secure world.” After all, “They can’t stop us all!” 😀

How’s The new look Guys?

Hi Guys! (or gals)
I changed the theme of my WP blog because Asa & Naya told me they had problems viewing the page. My evil twin, ChanuX, uses this theme without any issues, so I switched to it. Albeit, I loved my previous theme because it was simple and amazing. But I like this one too! 😀 Anyway, feel free to leave a comment if you like this one more than the previous one (or vice versa).
